WAM Electric started in 1978 as Bill Cooper Electric Company in Rockville Centre, Nassau County, NY. In 1980, Bill Cooper Electric purchased Wilma Electrical Company and W.A.M. Electric was incorporated with the DBA names of "Bill Cooper Electric & Wilma Electric". William Cooper is the main owner and president of the company.

The company started as Wilma Electrical Company more than 70 years ago.
